Learning new geeky things

I spend my working day with my head stuck in the dark inner workings of Drupal, which I love. I get so excited about technology like Drupal that I find myself selling it to random people who really couldn't care less. So I have come to accept that I am a geek at heart and I'm totally cool with that.

After spending several years learning languages like xhtml, css, php and mysql (not to mention other things like SEO, Affiliate Marketing and Drupal), I have decided that I really need to add some more geeky things to the list.

So now I'm on the hunt to learn another language. The scary thing is that this time it is just for fun. In the past, I have only learnt things that were necessary to get a job done. I didn't believe in technology just for the sake of it. To be honest, I don't really know why I want to learn another language. I guess its part intellectual curiosity, part because I believe it will make be a better PHP developer, and partly because adding another language to my CV might lead to higher rates for my services.

So now I just need to decide which language I will learn. My short-list is Python, Perl, Ruby or C#. And when I decide on the language, I then need to find the time to learn it!
