This week I attended the Drupal for Publishers event that was held at the Sun Microsystems office in central London. As the name suggests, the event was aimed squarely at publishers. I work for the UK's biggest magazine publisher, so I thought I should attend! I was not disappointed.

This is an nice shortish video covering the history of the internet, starting in 1957. It is pretty interesting (if your a geek like me!).

This is a brilliant Friday funny! I am a Sir Alan fan and, even though this is taking the mickey out him, it is absolutely hilarious.

Chrome Experiments is a website which show cases Javascript experiences from a range of different developers. Many are cutting edge, some are just plain cool and a bundle of fun. They certainly show what can be achieved with the wonders of Javascript. Chrome Experiments is a Google website and anyone can submit an experiment.

Wolfram Alpha is a brand new search engine that works in a totally different way to the others. Instead of returning a bunch of websites as results, Wolfram Alpha will actually answer your question (or attempt to). It does not refer you to other websites.

It even has a watermark is an online gallery of interesting business cards. If you are stuck for inspiration for your next business card, check it out. If you have an amazing business card yourself, you can submit it to inspire others.

A wonderful quote from Ronald Reagan. It kind of summaries the feelings of the political elite in many countries, especially at a time like this.

The Flight of the Conchords are a comedy band from New Zealand. They are also stars of the hit HBO show of the same name. This track, Business Time, is from one of their many concerts in the US.

Business Time is from their first album, also called Flight of The Conchords. All of their songs are hilarious. It is certainly great Friday music!

A report on ZDNet has suggested that Open source will take over from mainstream IT within the next 12 years. It also predicted that 40% of IT jobs will come from the open source sector.

It has been quite a while since my last post. I would love to say it is because I have been spending my time in glorious sunshine at the beach. But if are living in the UK like I am, you'll know that that isn't the case. Sunshine? I can't remember what the sun even looks like!

But I have been rather busy doing other things. Working, spending time with my family and concentrating more on affiliate marketing websites.
